Definition and classification of air cooled screw chiller

Air cooled screw chiller is named as screw chiller because its key components compressor uses screw type. According to different cooling methods, it can be divided into water-cooled screw chillers and air-cooled screw chillers two kinds. The screw chiller cooling capacity ranges from 100Kw / h to 860Kw / h, screw compressor power ranges from 38Kw-178Kw, which can be widely used in all walks of life whose refrigeration is particularly huge amount. Firstly, the screw chiller selection should be considered in accordance with the cooling load and prepare for what aspect. For refrigeration system in longer low-load operating conditions, it’s better to select multi-head screw compressor group, ease of conditioning and energy efficiency, that is the dual-head screw chillers or three head screw chillers we often say, which may change as the load, the chiller automatically determines to open the capacity of the compressor and ensure open compressor in top working condition, in order to effectively save energy.



Secondly, at the selection of screw chillers, take precedence to consider the unit with higher performance coefficient values. In accordance with previous statistics, the normal chiller running time at 100% load accounts for less than 1/4 of the run time throughout the year; in minutes running time, 100%, 75%, 50% and 25% load running time ratio is roughly 2.3%, 41.5%, 46.1%, 10.1%. Therefore,low temperature chiller model with relatively flat efficiency curve should be prior in the selection of the chiller. In design selection, you should consider the chiller load adjustment range, multi-head screw chiller part load performance is good, the screw chillers can be selected in accordance with the actual situation of the factory.



Thirdly, at the selection of screw chillers, you should be aware of the conditions of the nominal conditions. The actual cooling capacity of the chiller is related to the following points:

1. Chiller water temperature and return water temperature, which is the shell and tube evaporator water temperature

2. The chiller cooling circulating water inlet temperature, flow rate, and fouling factor, refers to the condenser water temperature

3. If you use air-cooled screw chillers, please note the use of ambient temperature, humidity environment, these factors directly affect the efficiency and service life of the chiller;

4. Air cooled screw chillers have special requirements in specific industries, chemical, pharmaceutical, aerospace, machinery, aviation, chemical fiber industry needs clear that the use of local and sales staff in advance, such as the chemical industry may need electrical explosion-proof shell and tube evaporator needs to be corrosion resistant.
