Leather is a necessity of life of human decoration field. With the increase of the world population, and living standards rising, decorated leather consumption increases relatively.

Generally speaking there are several kinds of leather:

1.Genuine leather

It is made from processed natural rawhide. Genuine leather is often used for sofa and couch products.

Advantages: good air permeability, natural.

Disadvantages: it might smell bad because of the using of some deodorant, preservatives in manufacturing process.
Poor wear resistance and easy to fade, little change in surface texture. Color issues happen easily for large genuine leather goods. Need special care especially for its dermis pores. Easily affected by water, easily get mold.



2.Artificial leather

Artificial leather is a fabric or finish intended to substitute for leather in fields such as upholstery, clothing, and fabrics, and other uses where a leather-like finish is required but the actual material is cost-prohibitive, unsuitable, or unusable for ethical reasons.
Artificial leather is divided into the following three categories which can be supplied by Leatherette Manufacturer:
a.PU leather

Advantages: touch compliant, environmentally friendly biodegradable material.
Disadvantages: bad Waterproof performance, easily chapped by cold, poor wear resistance, surface easily hydrolyzed after contact with air and water, produce cracking phenomenon, not durable enough.

b. PU / PVC leather

Advantages: the lines are imported designing, can be composite production.

The surface of this leather can be antique, fashion, or even science and technology. Because there is no limit in the using, it has diverse and rich texture.It is easy to maintenance and has excellent color fastness and waterproof performance. Flameproof, wear-resistant, antibacterial and antifungal.

Disadvantages: not degradable, higher production costs



3. PVC leather

Advantages: durable, waterproof, good abrasion resistance. Lines are round with repression, cheap cost.

Disadvantages: very heavy plastic smell, not environmentally friendly, touch is not good, stiff. The color products need processing because of its poor color fastness. Lines are stiff and not natural enough because of its production crafts.
